The Data Transformation Analyst is responsible for the build and delivery of the Data Transformation Programmes, ensuring that it meets all the data requirements identified in the mapping and functional specifications and will complete the final execution and load of the data in to SAP.
The Analyst will also provide technical advice to the Business Process Owners and Data Delivery Managers, ensuring that the optimal Data Transformation Approach is implemented.
Accountabilities:
- Conduct a technical review of all Data Transformation Documentation, ensuring data mapping, data extracts, data transformation and improvement specification are clearly defined and are sufficiently detailed to develop from.
- Produce high quality Data Transformation and Load Programs that meet the business data mapping and functional specifications using an Intermediate Database to produce the output for loading into SAP.
- Provide support to Business Process Owners and Data Delivery Managers in defining the Transformation Strategy and in developing tools for data creation and cleansing, ensuring this integrates with the overall Data Transformation infrastructure.
- Create and execute LSMW programs using appropriate load methods within SAP (i.e. IDOC`s and BAPI`s) to load the output file from the Intermediate Database into SAP.
- Ensure that the audit procedure is adhered, responding to and escalating any issues as they arise.
- Provide support to the Data Method Lead, in communicating the Data Transformation Approach to Business Process Owners and Data Delivery Managers to ensure local buy in and commitment.
- Support the data transformation reconciliation process to ensure that controls are implemented and wherever possible this is automated and integrated with the Data Load Program.
- Keep team lead informed of progress and status of deliverables and raise any potential issues and possible resolutions.
Essential Pre-requisites:
- Broad experience and knowledge of SAP functional modules.
- Broad experience of Data Transformation development and implementing, including technical knowledge and experience of data extraction, transformation and load tools.
- Experience of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and T-SQL skills.
- Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications.
- Experience of R*3 4.6c (or relevant release for other systems) in at least 1 project.
- Minimum of 1 full life cycle projects.
- Proven consultancy skills.
- Ability to work internationally and with all cultures.
- Technically and logically minded, with an attention to details.
- Excellent troubleshooting Pro-activity skills.
- ABAP knowledge.
Preferred skills:
- Knowledge of and experience in all standard SAP upload methods (IDOCS, BAPIS, Batch input, Direct input).
- Knowledge of LSMW.
- Strong Knowledge of Access Database.
- Multiple location parallel roll : outs.
- Formal Methodology.
- International experience.
- Capable of working independently and to be a self-motivator.
